Strawberry

I normally buy my berries frozen when off-season, but when in season fresh prices can be excellent – in particular, strawberries.  The simplest way to prepare strawberries is to puree the fruit and freeze it in portions.   Using my strawberry puree, I can easily mix and match with other ingredients to make it a more interesting food for Harvey.

Strawberry Puree

Preparation time 7 minutes, Cooking time: 3 minutes

Ingredients:

350 g strawberries

Methods:

  1. Wash strawberries using 1 part white vinegar and 3 part water.  Rinse thoroughly with water
  2. Add the washed strawberries to the steamer and steam for 3 minutes
  3. Puree to the desired consistency

Storage:

Set aside the desired amount and freeze the puree into individual portions

  • Spinach
  • Avocado
  • Banana
  • Yougurt
