Jaz & I always take Harvey with us to places since he was born. We have never said ‘No’ to any invitations or let Harvey stops us from doing things. It was easy to keep Harvey entertained with little toys and things you can find you’re your surroundings. I noticed that Harvey needs a much more interactive play since he was about 13 months old. All the little toys, serviette paper, water bottles didn’t do it anymore.
So I researched educational play. As you know, kids learn through play so I figured I might as well make things educational AND fun.
There are numerous websites that give you free printable materials. All you need is a little imagination and organise the materials that suit to your needs. Here is the main website I obtained my freebies from.
To create the activities bags for Toddler, you will need the following materials:
- Computer/Laptop
- Printer
- Printer Paper
- Scissors
- Laminator
- Magnetic Strip
- Magnetic Board (I just buy one of those portable magnetic whiteboard from Office-works. They are good sizes and works well with the magnetic materials)
- Velcro
- Folders/Pouches/Zip Lock bags
Aside from the free printable materials – other goodies you can include in the bags are:
- Water colour book
- Colouring book
- Sticker books
- Stickers of different kinds
- Scrap books (I always include scrapbooks in my kit as you can do soo many things in them)
- Crayons
Here are Harvey’s activity bags. I tested these bags when I took him to see Jaz’s gig a month or so ago. Harvey and I were sitting at the table playing these activities together nicely while listening to Daddy play his music. Since then I have taken these activities with me everywhere. I tend to update the bags once a month or once I see that Harvey mastered the games and ready for the next level so he doesn’t get bored.
